The Saint Reparate Cathedral is a famous 17th Century Baroque church located in Place Rossetti in Nices old quarter. It is one of the most historical landmarks in the old town, built to honour the young martyr Saint Reparte, the patron saint of Nice.
It has an elegant gateway, high alter and marble choir gallery. Its bell tower dates back to the 18th Century and can be seen on the approach to the old town.
The Cathedral was a Benedictine Abbey until around 1590 when it was relocated to its current location and renovated to the Cathedral which you’ll see today! Admission if free into the Cathedral and is open each day.
Please Note:
Saint Reparte day in October 8th but the procession always take place either the Sunday before or after this date. The procession and festivals in honour of Sainte Reparte take place in the old quarter near Place Rossetti and the Cathedral.
