Nice
This is the real heart of Nice, the most famous and definitely a very impressive square in the city. Originally created in 1852, it has been redesigned several times since, in 1852 the square was named after one of the city’s most famous citizens.

This is a favourite meeting place for tourists when visiting the city. You’ll be glad to hear that Vieux Nice is within easy reach! The famous pedestrian shopping street runs from the end of Place Massena to the sea. Here you will find shops, restaurants and cafes with outdoor terraces, a great place to sit, relax and people watch.

This beautiful landscaped plaza is full of fountains, statues, trees and flowers, surrounded by imposing red coloured buildings. A huge fountain with bronze sculptures signed by Alfred Janniot representing the planets of the solar system, is the most famous and impressive of all the fountains.

Residents and tourists alike can be seen strolling around this square, admiring the beautiful gardens and impressive architecture. Place Massena is definitely not to be missed when visiting Nice.
