Nice – where to Eat, Drink & Shop:

In Nice you will be treated to the best of French cuisine. A speciality in Nice is the tuna fish sandwich called a Pan Bagnat or the food known as Socca, which is made from chick-pea flour.

When you are going out to eat you’ll have a wide range of restaurants to choose from. If you are looking to eat on a budget it is recommended to try out the Port area of Nice as the restaurants of Old Nice and the Promenade can be a little more expensive but are worth it if you don’t mind the cost. The set lunch menus available throughout most of the city are not too expensive and usually can be acquired at any time during the afternoon.

There are plenty of pubs available within the walls of Old Nice and along the Promenade. Wayne’s in particular is a popular venue for the younger crowd but not so much for the older generations. It is recommended you look around; you never know what hidden gems you may find.

The main shopping districts of Nice form the centre of the future Tramway. The streets Place Massena and Jean Medecin form the prime shopping areas of Nice. The Nice Etoile on Jean Medecin is a large well-known mall that offers shops and department stores on various floors
